The Wobbly Barn Steakhouse will open for its 44th season with its annual Halloween Costume Party on Wednesday, October 31, 2007. As in the past, proceeds from the winter season-opening event will go to benefit the Killington volunteer fire and rescue squad: Sherburne First Response.

The Wobbly Barn's Halloween Party this year will feature the music of Joey Leone's Chop Shop, a high-energy rock and roll band. As always, costumes are required for entry, along with a $10 suggested donation. The party begins in the nightclub at 8:00 p.m. Costume prizes in various categories will be awarded by The Wobbly Barn judges. Those judges also give out a grand prize of one Killington/Pico 2007-2008 Season Pass to the individual with the most creative costume. This year's party will be bigger, better and loonier than ever. On a Wednesday night the locals will come out the woodwork with the best costumes, and of course the ski house folks will be coming in to town to start the season off right.

Over the years, the money donated to the Fire Department from the Halloween bash has been used for volunteer training and to buy equipment to service the Killington area. While Killington's official population is around 1,000 registered residents, the number of visitors to the Killington Resort area can climb to some 20,000 people on a given busy winter weekend. That number of people demands a very well-equipped fire and rescue department. This is our way of letting community members and visitors contribute back into their own community in a fun atmosphere. It's also a way of showing support for our local heroes.

The Noble and Ancient Krewe of The Roostertail and The Wobbly Barn Steakhouse will proudly present Kid Money's 12th Annual Mardi Gras Ball this upcoming Fat Tuesday, February 5th 2008!

If you're still wasting your time down in New Orleans, you obviously haven't seen "The Kid" and his Krewe put on their Mardi Gras Extravaganza. The Wobbly Barn will again be the only place in K-Town to see an authentic Mardi Gras Parade, King Cake Ceremony and listen to the foot-stomping, Louisiana Style Zydeco of Mango Jam. Costumes are required so don your Purple, Green and Gold Mardi Gras garb and you could be crowned The Krewe of The Roostertail's Mardi Gras King and Queen for 2008. Feather boas, sequins, masks, beads. . . anything goes but you must be "In The Mardi Gras Spirit."

Don't have a costume? Make sure you attend the mask making party and make a mask for free at the Snowshed Lodge from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Chef Steve, as always, will be serving a special "Queen's Dinner" menu in the Steakhouse with incredible Creole and Cajun selections, including jambalaya, e'touffee, crawdads, cajun catfish and a "Mighty Rad" gumbo!

Everyone is welcome and all ages are invited to dine in the Steakhouse, but you must be at least 21 and in costume to attend the craziness upstairs in the Nightclub. Lokel Yokel and Season Pass holders will be the guests of Kid Money for the upstairs festivities. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. So get your Krewe together and plan on being at The Wobbly Barn for Fat Tuesday, February 5th 2008.
